Why the world does not recognize the Taliban?

It has been more than two and a half years since the Taliban deliberately returned to power. During this period, no country in the world is willing to accept the risk of recognizing this group. Even the closest supporters of the Taliban who have provided financial, weapons, ideological and political support for this group for years; are not willing to take this risks and recognize the Taliban as a legitimate government. Now the central question is why the Taliban are not recognized? During this period, the world's relationship with the Taliban was made through the option of political interaction, and the world had a relationship with the Taliban, if not officially but unofficially, but the world is not ready to recognize this group as a government and include it in making the usual political and diplomatic relations.
Here, I am stating some reasons as the main possibilities of non-recognition of the Taliban by the world.
- If the Taliban are recognized, a legal, legitimate and voting system, according to international laws, will be formed in regional and global equations. This work will increase the responsibility of the world that uses the Taliban's card as a tool, political, economic and security;
- The discussion of economic, political, security and geopolitical interests does not require the countries of the world to recognize the rule of such a group that is a major violator of human rights, is in open conflict with modern values, and tries to hide the radical secret itself, makes it a custom and gives it an official face. Therefore, by covering up a legal issue of recognition, they secure their interests through interaction with this group;
- A large number of countries use the Taliban group in power as a tool and use it as a security, political and economic pressure tool against each other. In such a case, it should not be shown that this group harms element (b) by having formal relations with element (a). According to the responsibility of the unofficial, illegitimate group and separate from the legal principles and principles, it can better provide the interests of these countries;
- The recognition of a terrorist regime requires a bilateral interaction, rights and obligations that no country is willing to give such privilege to the Taliban. Therefore, unofficially, the Taliban will remain a constructive element in political, economic and security interactions in the region, without being responsible for any country;
- As long as the United States does not take the lead in recognizing the Taliban, others will not be willing to take responsibility and be accountable for the actions of this group at the international level. Therefore, maintaining the status quo of not identifying a group in power in Afghanistan can be done purposefully, with security agendas and with special measurements in this field;
- Any security incident that has even the slightest connection with groups that have a base in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban, the recognized regime of the Taliban will be responsible for it. In this case, the reaction against it requires compliance with international principles. Therefore, if a proxy group like the Taliban, which lacks international recognition, is linked to such incidents, immediate action against them is easier and less costly;
- The Taliban group and their presence in power is a security program, an intelligence project and to implement certain goals. The characteristic of such proxy groups staying in power is transitory, temporary and tactical, and they are used as a balancing or disrupting principle of security, political and economic equations. Recognition gives a sign of long-term guarantees by accepting responsibility for any government, in which case recognizing the Taliban will be against this plan;
- The region is not ready to recognize such a group which is the source of inspiration for terrorist and extremist thoughts. If he does so, for the security of the region and the possibility that other terrorist groups, inspired by the Taliban regime, will make moves that will inspire a wave of terrorism to a wide level in the region;
- Just as the creation of the Taliban group is the product of the work of several countries, its performance is the result of the competition of several powers; its recognition will also cause conflict, competition and political confrontation. According to the recognition of the Taliban, it will be a closed, complicated and extremely difficult process;
- Now, after two and a half years of bringing the Taliban to power, it is quite clear that the Taliban is no longer an undisputed absolute movement, an irreplaceable element and an absolute factor. Difficult international conditions, the competition of different powers and the emergence of factors influencing the situation in Afghanistan, the issue of recognizing the Taliban is at the top of the agenda and the agenda of the powers that see the existence of this group in power, an important element to secure their own interests.
According to the current situation and ongoing regional global equation, the Taliban will remain a factor in power until the situation and political agendas of the great powers and the region are transformed, millions of dollars of their regime's expenses will be provided by the great powers, they will be an intermediary to secure the economic interests of the region and Extra-regional (mines, transit route, electricity, economic markets) political interests (bargaining at international levels) (intellectual, ideological competitions, trying to provide new principles in the imminent international order and the ideological center of extremism in the region and security interests) (instrumental use of the extremism element of the Taliban to implement the security agendas of the regional and extra-regional powers) at different levels of international politics.
This group is to upset the security balance at the regional level through extra-regional agendas and create security balance and prevent instability. There is no immediate need for world recognition of this group.
