Sangar's sources question the statement of the head of the Russian special services about the creation of American and British intelligence bases in Afghanistan.

Kabul, October 12 – Sangar, Farzam Kazemi. According to these sources, American and British intelligence centers and personnel were in Afghanistan after the Taliban captured Kabul.

Sangar's source in the Taliban's National Security Directorate says that thousands of citizens and intelligence officers from the United States, Great Britain, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden are in the country.

“The Americans, more precisely employees of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), have their offices and operational centers in the Ariana and Serena hotels in the city of Kabul, at the airports of Kabul, Kandahar, Kunduz, Bagram and the city of Mazar-i-Sharif. They mainly cooperate with the intelligence services, the Taliban ministries of defense and interior, and border forces" the source said.

He added that there is still a five-member team of CIA trainers working with ISIS-Khorasan in the Shigal district of Kunar province.

“American mobile teams travel throughout Afghanistan along with Taliban intelligence officials and the Haqqani network. Among other things, three months ago one of them visited the Wakhan Valley and the border with Pakistan's Chitral, after which the TTP attacked the region," the source said.

Most Americans and associated people work as advisers and technical personnel in the Taliban's civilian and military establishments, he said.

“Including the management of the state company Inkishafi Milli (National Development), which is engaged in investment and construction projects such as the Qushteppa canal, is fully affiliated with the United States. They were appointed under the republic, and under the Taliban they simply dressed in the clothes of the Afghan Taliban, grew a beard and that’s it,” the source said.

According to the Taliban's National Security Directorate, about 4,500 US citizens, 700 British citizens, 2,000 Turkish citizens and more than 500 citizens of Norway, Denmark, and Sweden are under surveillance in Afghanistan.

“They work in Kabul, Kandahar, Herat, Mazar-i-Sharif, and Kunduz in foreign institutions, airports, ministries and government agencies. The British are present in Kabul, Wazir Akbar Khan, Shirpur, Karta Se, and Karta Char areas. Only 4 MI6 officers worked in Afghanistan during the republic,” the source said.

He added that some of these people are Afghans who hold passports from both their country of residence and Afghanistan.

“Some came for family matters, supposedly to visit relatives and take care of sick loved ones and other personal matters. This is despite the fact that everyone who can is trying to leave Taliban Afghanistan. They do intelligence work and are in contact with the Taliban leadership,” the source said.

According to him, the Turks are cooperating with American intelligence in general on ISIS, especially with citizens of Russia, Central Asian countries, Chinese Uyghurs, and non-Pashtuns in northern Afghanistan.

“One example of this cooperation was the transfer of Tajik citizens from Turkey to Afghanistan via Pakistan and their dispatch to carry out terrorist operations in Iran, some of which we witnessed. Recently, a Turk named Arhan Yildiz from Ankara was arrested in Badakhshan,” the source said.

He added that the Norwegians, Danes, and Swedes also work in coordination with American and British intelligence, and their task is mainly to provide financial and material support to the Taliban forces through charitable organizations.

“Another of their missions is to mobilize non-governmental organizations that work in accordance with American programs, including support for women’s rights and girls’ education. Their other duty is to collect information under the guise of charitable activities,” the source said.

Sangar's source doubts that Russian authorities have just learned of the presence of American and British intelligence officers in Afghanistan, and now that they have raised their voices, this means that the project is approaching its sensitive stage.

Earlier, Russian media, citing Alexander Bortnikov, head of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia, reported that the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the British MI6 intend to revive their intelligence presence and create bases in a number of key provinces of Afghanistan.

The head of Russian intelligence accused the United States and Great Britain of being involved in destabilizing the situation in Afghanistan and weakening the efforts of the Taliban government to revive the Afghan economy and implement infrastructure projects with the participation of third countries.

According to Sangar's sources, the head of Russian intelligence does not pay attention to the role of the Taliban in this project, especially since the British Foreign Office, along with his statement, clearly stated that it would never allow anyone, even the Afghans, to act against the Taliban.

SANGAR: Other credible reports about US and UK activities in Afghanistan, such as funding for Afghan special prisons, special foreign prisoners who are even provided with Internet, a Taliban deputy intelligence trip to Qatar, and the decision to split the budget of the National Security Directorate from the Taliban Finance Ministry and we will leave its financing by the US and Britain through Qatar, etc. for another time.
