Forces of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan killed a district police commander in the Baghlan province
Hindu Kush, July 07 - Sangar, Hasib Sangar. This is the largest loss of the Taliban in the Khosts area of Baghlan province in recent months.
Sharifulla Sangin, brother of Baryalai Sangin, the commander of the Khosts resistance who led this operation, told the Sangar website that the attack took place yesterday, July 6, around 15:00 in the Dar Pashai village of the Charkhi Falak valley in Khost district.
“When our intelligence reported the movement of the Ranger car of the chief of police of the Khost district and another Corolla car with his bodyguards towards the Charkhi Falak valley, our forces quickly planned an ambush and when the Taliban arrived at the scene, they immediately attacked them,” he said.
According to him, the ambush killed Mullah Bahauddin, known as Qari Muaz, the Taliban police chief, as well as Mullah Mannan, the commander of the group, and three bodyguards named Safialla, Abdulmansur, and Saifuddin.
“They were all local Tajik Taliban. Kari Muaz was from the village of Darragi, Khost district. As a teenager, he went to Pakistan, where he was brainwashed and joined the Taliban. During the republic, he fought with government forces in Farah, Kandahar, and other southern provinces. After the fall of Afghanistan until a month ago, he was deputy chief of police in the Khost district. When the chief of police was transferred to the Firing district, he was appointed acting officer. In order to please the Taliban, he oppressed his own people,” Sharifulla Sangin said.
Mullah Abdulwaheed, police commander Charkhi Falak, and two other Taliban fighters, whose names are inaccurate, were also wounded in the ambush, he said.
“After this attack, the Taliban sent a lot of forces to the area. They arrested innocent and civilian young people from the villages of Lervan, Dar Pashai, Kahzar, and Dehlala on charges of collaborating with the Resistance Front and took them to the district police building,” the source said to Sangar.
Meanwhile, there is other information from Firing, according to which at about 9:00 last night there was a conflict between the forces of the head of administration and the chief of police of this district. The reason was the refusal of the Taliban police militants to participate in the operation against the resistance forces.
The Khosts region, which covers the districts of Khost, Firing, and Guzargohi Nur, was considered one of the strongholds of Ahmad Shah Massoud during the jihad against the Soviet Union and the First Resistance to the Taliban. One of his first major bases was established in the 1980s in the Helab region, which is now known as Guzargohi Nur.
