When will the animals, in order to humiliate each other, say: “Hey man!”?

Author: Ahmad Saidi, Afghanistan and Regional Affairs Analyst (Germany), especially for Sangar

A number of flatterers and sycophants who yesterday served Ashraf Ghani and today the Taliban demand me to be silent, not criticize, not write, because it is dangerous for me.

These little men must know that silence in the face of injustice is death, and I am still alive.

Why should I be silent? I will never remain silent in the face of injustice, because I believe that the best jihad is to stand up and speak the truth in a country that is ruled by a tyrant. Not only my children, but also many friends have repeatedly said: shut up, do not criticize anymore in the media, as they say, you eat your food and go your way, you will be killed, have pity on yourself, but...

How long must I remain silent?

There is not a day in our country that someone is not killed, there is not a day that a mother does not mourn her beloved son. How much longer do we have to witness the daily pain and suffering and the ongoing crisis? How long will our people be oppressed? For how much longer must our community suffer from the harsh realities of poverty and hunger? How long will we believe in false leaders? Until when will foreigners decide our fate?

If we, the people of Afghanistan, do not fight for the realization of justice and unity, our land will turn into a stagnant swamp, where "sacred" leeches will appear, which grow and multiply only when they feed on human blood. These seemingly pious and ambitious individuals rely solely on our admiration and blind faith in them for sustenance. They drain us of our energy and vitality like leeches feeding on vitamins.

Look at the threats, interventions of foreigners, poverty, unemployment and riots, insults, and humiliations.

How shameful! There is nothing shameful and modest in the fact that our government is headed by a group called the Taliban, which has existed for almost two years, but has no laws and principles, is not recognized by any state, and some of its ministers are still listed as black lists. At the round tables, they should hear what people want and what they wish for.

The situation has reached the point where the thief says "God!" and the owner of the house too. On the other hand, some people are still sitting like an owl on a branch and shaking their heads and tails. May the Lord take care of these owls.

There are some dishonest and deceitful individuals who are instigating ethnic and linguistic conflicts in Afghanistan with the goal of pitting ethnic groups against each other. Unfortunately, many Afghans have suffered as a result of these individuals' selfish and ambitious actions. These people are traitors and only care about advancing their own careers. Ordinary people are not to blame, they are just victims.

They say that a fish rots from the head, not from the tail. Let us treat these rotten heads if they can be cured, otherwise cut off their tails and throw them away so that the whole society is safe from their filth.

If the situation continues like this, believe that the day will come, we can say that soon the animals, in order to humiliate each other, will say: “Hey, man!”.

* A literal translation of a Tajik proverb, which means during the tyrannical rule, religious values are used to implement sinister plans.
