Message from Atta Mohammad Noor, leader of the Jamiat Islami (Islamic Society) of Afghanistan, on the occasion of the global holiday of Nowruz and the advent of the solar new year 1403

Dear compatriots, proud and free people of the country, dear sisters, brothers, and young people!

I would like to congratulate you on the arrival of the Jamshid New Year, which coincides with the onset of the solar new year, and wish that this year will be the end of the crisis reigning in our country and the beginning of the fulfillment of your desires.

For the peoples of the world, the New Year is a reminder of important historical events and their connection with the glorious past.

Meanwhile, Navruz has a different story and narrative. For us, New Year's Eve makes this momentous occasion even more glorious. Navruz and spring are a manifestation of the incomparable beauty, glory, and power of God, a time of growth and miracles, a time of work and effort, a time to refresh yourself and live happily, take a mirror, and think.

For us - Aryans, this day is a reminder of the beginning of history and the emergence of Aryan civilization on earth, the end of the construction of the mother of cities (Umm al-Bilad Balkh) by Yama Jamshid, the ancient ruler of Aryan five thousand seven hundred and three years ago. This day indicates the continuity of our identity and living presence in the steep valley of centuries and millennia.

Navruz, as an ancient historical and civilizational tradition, has been continuously celebrated by our people for many years, centuries, and millennia. But, unfortunately, in addition to the obvious hostility towards this civilizational holiday, for the third year in a row, the anti-cultural group of the Taliban is also boycotting Nowruz in its motherland, which is regrettable.

The enmity with Nowruz has no basis or reference in any of the religious components and readings; rather, this enmity is caused by dogmatism and petrification, rooted in enmity with our civilizational values and foundations, and the continuation of the policy of fighting our identity.

Dear fellow countrymen!

The misfortune of our country caused by the usurpation of power by a group of mercenaries of foreign powers is difficult and unbearable for all of us. But this situation cannot be tolerated and survived with such a repressive approach of this group and its pillars - oppression, torture, and killing of people. This building will collapse soon.

For the third year in a row, the school gates are closed for our innocent girls and the school bell is ringing only for a section of the society. On the other hand, the spread of extremism with the creation and expansion of religious schools to educate extremist students, along with attempts to change the curriculum, leads to the proliferation of extreme ideas, the result of which eventually becomes obvious.

Depriving women and girls of work, higher education and social rights is the exclusion of women from society and an example of gender apartheid. This is another part of the Taliban's inhumane practices.

Moreover, the scope of oppression of this group is expanding every day. In addition to imprisoning, torturing, and killing former security personnel ethnic strongmen, and innocent people, the Taliban has resorted to all types of corruption, looting of government property, and isolating Afghanistan from the human world. By supporting, training, and equipping more than twenty-two terrorist groups, they have turned Afghanistan into a safe platform for the propaganda and export of terrorism.

Although 1402, along with the numerous challenges it brought to Afghanistan and our people, also brought opportunities at the international level, which, unfortunately, are still in an aura of ambiguity and multifaceted behavior of the countries of the region and the world. The sincerity of the desire for peace in Afghanistan has been called into question. How can countries that claim to be fighting terrorism yet constantly engage with a terrorist group, and the people of Afghanistan are paying the price?

It is clear that the Taliban, as a group that supports terrorism, has neither the ability nor the desire to join the modern human world order, nor the ability to yield to the legitimate demands of the Afghan people. For a group whose structure is the result of an emirate and an authoritarian cult of personality, it is clear what the future holds for Afghanistan and the region.
