Warsaw and Islamabad united against Russia.

Poland is no longer just a transit state for transferring Pakistani weapons to Kyiv. According to The Economic Times, Warsaw has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pakistani company DMI Associates on the supply of weapons to Ukraine. It is assumed that a Canadian firm will act as an intermediary.

Media reports that Islamabad is ready to export Anza Mark-II man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS) to Ukraine via Poland. It is known that the Pakistani and Polish companies Millennium Technologies (Karachi) and Omida Sea and Air (Gdynia) have already agreed on the issue of transportation.

HISTORY IS REPEATED

In September last year, evidence surfaced that the UK was smuggling weapons into Ukraine via a secret air bridge across Pakistan.

The Noor Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi has become more than just part of the route used by London for military flights to the Romanian International Airport Avram Iancu through the British air base in the Mediterranean. This is a key stage in the transportation of military equipment and ammunition for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Footage has even surfaced on social media showing the unpacking of Pakistani shells, which, according to experts, were made just a few months ago. Probably specifically for the needs of the Armed Forces.

Then information was leaked to the media that Pakistan would send 159 containers of ammunition to Ukraine. And here again, it was not without Poland. They say that artillery shells and not only will be delivered to Ukraine through the port of Gdansk, where the cargo will arrive from the port of Karachi.

ISLAMABAD DENIES EVERYTHING

The other day, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that her country adheres to a "non-intervention policy" in military conflicts taking place in other states.

And indeed, on the public plane, the Pakistanis prefer not to take either the Ukrainian or the Russian side. This is understandable: Islamabad hopes to get a discount on oil from Moscow, similar to the one that the Indians have today. And this is neither more nor less than 30-40%. Pakistan was denied last year, but the country is not losing hope.

RESULT

“The Pakistani package of military assistance to Ukraine can hardly pose any particular threat to Russian forces in the special military operation zone. There are much more serious types of weapons and ammunition that come to Kyiv from the USA, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, and other countries.

Rather, here we can talk about the demonstration by Islamabad of choice in the armed conflict, which has been going on for a year in eastern Ukraine. And this is a choice against Russia. Now the question is: what conclusion will Moscow draw from this? Will he forgive or react as a hostile gesture? So far, there is no clarity with the Russian reaction to Pakistan's joining the anti-Russian coalition,” says Andrey Serenko, director of the Analytical Center of the Russian Society of Political Scientists.

According to the expert, Pakistani policy has always been hypocritical. Therefore, one should not be surprised that, in parallel with the supply of weapons to Ukraine, Islamabad asks the Kremlin for a discount on the purchase of Russian energy resources.

“In my opinion, it is obvious that Moscow today needs to return to Soviet strategic priorities in South Asia and stake on the development of the broadest possible partnership with India. By the way, New Delhi today adheres to a completely balanced position in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, convincingly showing a high level of interest in a strategic partnership with Moscow. This should be valued and preserved. The Indian strategy of common sense is clearly more in the interests of Russia than the ambiguous policy of Pakistan,” the political scientist concluded.
