The Taliban* have not changed but become more pragmatic in their extremism and radicalism and are ready to make a deal with foreign countries on anything, even the social fate of Afghan women and girls.

Author: Yaqub Yasna

But they need this deal to be officially recognized and create the ground for this recognition, and after that, they reveal their true intentions. They declared that they would not ban the education and work of women. But they banned it. They are working to implement the plans they developed twenty years ago.

Taliban rule in Afghanistan does not serve the interests of any ethnic group. The fact that most of their officials are Pashtuns does not mean that their presence ends in favor of the Pashtuns. How many Pashtun men are in power or not, it does not affect the social and cultural development of the Pashtun people, even dragging back this social and cultural structure.

The social structure of the Pashtun people and the people of Afghanistan as a whole needs change, transformation, and development. But in a society where women do not have education and work, it is impossible to achieve freedom, tolerance, social, cultural, and moral development, and prosperity. The change, transformation, development, and flourishing of the social and cultural structure of modern societies of the world are directly related to the vibrant human presence of women.

Imagine a society without women. What can it be? A society made up of nervous, complex and unpretentious, and insignificant wild men. Because in the absence of women in society, social, cultural, and moral gaps increase, which in turn leads to greater nervousness, confusion, and humiliation of men. A person (male and female) in the presence and participation of social and cultural interactions achieves a meaningful reality and moral, social, and cultural prosperity.

By banning women from education and work, the Taliban showed that their path is different from the path of the Afghan people and the peoples of the world. The Taliban took hostage women, modern education, political sovereignty, civil rights, and the right to life in Afghanistan. They have destroyed the presence of women in society. They banned scientific and standard education and turned schools and universities into Deobandi schools. Without elections and a popular vote, they seek domination by force and do not recognize political sovereignty and legitimacy. They do not respect the social, cultural, civil, and religious rights of people and kill people without trial or investigation.

In this case, there can be no hope for coexistence and partnership under the rule of the Taliban. From here, war, riots, famine, poverty, nervousness, and widespread confusion in the country will definitely occur.
