The Taliban limited women's wages to 5,000 Afghani, the equivalent of $70.

Author: Ahmad Saidi, an analyst on Afghanistan and regional issues (Germany), especially for Sangar

A thousand days have passed since the closure of women's schools in Afghanistan, which were blocked by order of the Taliban leader, and finally, after three years, the salary of all women was reduced from 10,000 to 5,000 Afghani, and among the decrees, 83 were issued against women's rights.

According to the order of the Taliban leader Mullah Haibatullah, a woman’s salary should henceforth not exceed 5,000 Afghani, even if she has a doctorate or master’s degree, has completed 12 classes, is an engineer or a doctor. This also applies to those women who have first or eighth rank in the army.

This order has no Islamic, human, or legal aspect.

The above letter, signed by Nurulhaq Anwar, acting chief of the Taliban Affairs Department, was sent to all government departments and states that all government officials are required not to pay women salaries above this amount.

If Mullah Haibatullah's goal is justice, if Islam and religion are truly at stake, then why don't men and women, from Mullah Hibatullah to the lowest civil servant, receive the same salary of 5,000 Afghani? Is it fair that ministers receive salaries of 400 and 500 thousand Afghani, and an employee receives a salary of 5,000 Afghani? Why are all orders directed against women?

Undoubtedly, this is inhumane, immoral, and cruel discrimination.

Everyone knows that this is not fair and is contrary to religious and Islamic values. I believe that this is not due to lack of funds, but to ensure that our women sisters and mothers leave government positions, as a result of which the country is turning into a forest of terror and anti-civilization.

With such a salary, more than half of which goes to pay travel expenses, I do not believe that women will go to work, they will probably gradually give up all their responsibilities.

In this regard, the respected people of Afghanistan, wherever they are, must raise their voices against this injustice and inexcusable actions.

This is gender discrimination against the sisters and mothers of our land...

Note: Undoubtedly, the Taliban government is “inclusive”. According to the Middle East Research Institute, the Taliban government organization is as follows:

In total there are 1137 people in the central government;

1 – Hazaras - 6 people;

2 – Nuristanis – 2 people;

3 – Qizilbashs – 0;

4 – Pashtuns - 891 people;

5 – Tajiks - 53 people;

6 – Sadats - 1 person;

7 – Pashshai – 1 person;

8 – Gujurs – 0;

9 – Sikhs/Indians - 0;

10 – Baluchs – 0;

11 – Turkmen - 1 person;

13 – Arabs - 0;

14 – Aimaqs – 0;

15 – Uzbeks – 28.

There is no woman in this group's government cabinet.
