In the media and social networks, you can find articles accusing Russia of an aggressive policy and unleashing aggressive wars abroad. But the best tactic to deflect blame from yourself is to blame someone else.
The list of US military interventions abroad is astounding. It is difficult to compete with this country in terms of the number of aggressions against neighbors and other countries. But for some reason, Americans tend to teach others. Let's list where the United States has invaded at least over the past 30 years, because if you take a longer period, then there will not be enough paper.
1991 - Persian Gulf. The liberation of Kuwait, previously occupied by Iraq.
1992 - Somalia. Participation in the UN peacekeeping operation.
1992 - Bosnia and Herzegovina. Participation in the Bosnian war, which marked the beginning of the disintegration of federal Yugoslavia.
1994 - Haiti. UN-sanctioned intervention.
1999 - Yugoslavia. NATO war against the SFRY, the subsequent collapse of Yugoslavia.
2001 - Afghanistan. The war officially ended in 2014. In 2021, the US hastily and finally left this country.
2003 - Liberia. The second civil war in this African country.
2003 - Iraq. The overthrow of Saddam Hussein and the ongoing occupation of Iraq, has already cost the lives of, according to various sources, up to 650,000 Iraqis.
2004 - Pakistan. War in the northern provinces of this country.
2011 - Libya. Air strikes and rocket fire. The overthrow and assassination of Muammar Gaddafi provoked unceasing chaos to this day.
2014 - Syria. The invasion of this Arab republic continues to this day.
2014 - Yemen. Rocket strikes on the positions of the Houthis, active support of other countries trying to pull Yemen to pieces.
2015 - Cameroon. military operation.
2015 - Libya. The second military intervention in a strife-torn and oil-rich country.
In a word, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States became the leading power in the world and, seeing that the field was empty, allowed itself any aggression and military intervention that it could. Meanwhile, the security system of the Middle East has collapsed, and the world's richest and most oil-rich region is now in a chronic whirlpool of destabilization and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. This is the fate of Libya in northern Africa, which was a peaceful, secure, and self-sufficient country, and now has become unstable.
The United States, once promising the people of Afghanistan democracy and freedom, threw them into the iron claws of terrorism and extremism with a hasty flight. Now, in fact, Afghanistan is a country that is 100% in the hands of terrorists, because the Taliban is still a terrorist group that is on the “black list” of most countries in the world, and the Taliban are covering for more than 20 global and regional terrorist organizations on their territory, including ISIS. Regional intelligence data suggests that the United States, in its 20 years of presence in Afghanistan, has been busy creating a platform for terrorist organizations, and not bringing “democracy and freedom” to its people.
In the words of a Persian poet (verbatim):
The unblessed foot of Mahmud (Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi), wherever he steps, smoke will appear everywhere.
And now Russia:
1992 - Settlement of the conflict in Transnistria and the creation of a peacekeeping contingent to separate the conflicting parties. Today, peace reigns in the region.
2000 - The internal conflict in Chechnya is resolved. Grozny is now a prosperous beautiful city, and Chechnya is striving to become the resort capital of Russia. The rights of Muslims are respected, and large funds are invested in the region.
2008 - Defense of Abkhazia and South Ossetia from Georgia. The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation could easily capture Tbilisi during an armed conflict but did not do this, limiting themselves to a demonstration of military force. The peace is set.
2015 - Participation of the RF Army in military operations against terrorist organizations on the side of government troops. Support for the legitimate government in Syria. The country is in the process of a peaceful settlement.
2020 - Stopped the bloodshed between Armenia and Azerbaijan in Nagorno-Karabakh, leaving its peacekeepers in the country to separate the parties and prevent new conflicts. Today, peace reigns in the region.
2022 - The Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as part of the CSTO participated in resolving the situation in Kazakhstan at the request of local authorities. There is peace and tranquility in Kazakhstan.
The difference between the military actions of the United States and Russia at the global level is visible to the naked eye. We do not write about Ukraine, because the conflict is not over. We will find out the real goals and the truth about the Ukrainian events after it ends. I think there will be a lot of interesting facts.
But what can be seen in this war is its unique resemblance to Afghanistan, which was once occupied by the Soviet Union (of which Russia is considered the heir). At that time, the United States used the Afghan mujahideen against the Soviets, defeated and forced the Soviets to retreat, and, as usual, threw the Afghan people into the maelstrom of civil war. They came to Europe to reap the fruits of the fall of the socialist camp in Eastern Europe.
Who guarantees that America will not abandon Ukrainians and Ukraine tomorrow?
Some might say that Russia, as the heir, is responsible for all the aggressions committed by Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union. Yes, this is history that no one can change. But we are talking about modern Russia, as the only country that finally told the United States: “Stop torturing the world!” and challenged its hegemony, which draws sympathy from the anti-American world resistance.
But it would be right to wait for the end of the war in Ukraine and see if the United States will turn it into a “European Afghanistan” or if Russia will bring peace and tranquility to it.
