Publishers from China and Central Asia have agreed to create a joint venture for future cooperation.

DUSHANBE, November 01 – Sangar. The initial document on this matter was signed during the first forum in Astana, the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Iskandar Nasirov, director of the Balogat publishing house in Dushanbe, one of the participants in this forum, told Sputnik Tajikistan that publishing organizations in China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan decided to create a Publishing Cooperative of China and Central Asia for joint development for qualitative growth.

“The purpose of creating the Publishing Cooperative of China and Central Asia is cooperation for the sake of comprehensive technical development and exchange of experience of publishing houses and printing houses, as well as the development of cultural cooperation between countries,” said Iskandar Nasirov.

According to the declaration adopted after the first forum, member publishing houses support establishing bilateral and multilateral cooperation and cooperate in joint planning to publish books that expand cultural ties between different countries.

Iskandar Nasirov said that member publishing houses create platforms that support the exchange of works, copyright, translation, and marketing, and create conditions for strengthening innovation, leveraging the results of new technologies, and introducing digital publishing.

“The deepening of cooperation is ensured through training, conferences, and seminars, and publishing specialists from different countries should exchange ideas, discuss professional skills, share experiences, and become close business partners,” said the director of the Balogat Publishing House.

At this conference, the Renmin University Press in Beijing, the capital of China, was chosen as a liaison between publications and a coordinator for cooperation between publishing houses in China and Central Asia.

Renmin University Publishing House back in 2017, in response to the initiative of Chinese President Xi Jinping at the “One Belt, One Road” forum, to promote international cooperation and create a new platform for cultural cooperation, created the “One Belt, One Road” Academic Publishing Alliance "

In 2019, the Alliance changed its name to the Belt and Road Publishing Cooperative and was included in the final list of the Second Belt and Road International Cooperation Forum. It is currently the only platform at the national level for publishing and cultural exchange between China and countries under the “One Belt, One Road” Project. This cooperative has close cooperation with Asian countries in higher education, translation, and book publishing.

The One Belt, One Road Publishing Cooperative held the first China-Central Asia Publishing Cooperative Forum at the Lev Gumilyov National Eurasian University in Astana, Kazakhstan.
